Kindness is Contagious

Catch it

March 13, 2018

The lonely spirit above

Looked down on earth and saw

All of the shame and monstrosities

Of the actions of this earth.

He sees people stealing, taking, killing.

He sees the selfish and the rude.

He goes down to earth and asked one simple question,

“Why?”

“Why are you so hateful? Why are you so vile?”

But there was no reply, because there was no answer.

Nobody knew why they caused wicked and sinful deeds.

The spirit sighed and leapt back onto the clouds.

He sat there, chin resting on his hand, watching.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months,

Until finally, out of this black and white-colored world,

There was a single pink glow.

The spirit lifted his head, and peeked over the clouds in curiosity,

He saw a little girl, who had helped someone in need.

But what caught the spirit’s attention, was that the glow spread.

It spread to the person she helped, because he helped another.

And it spread to the person he helped, because he helped another,

And another, and another,

Until there was not a hint of black or white in sight.

The world had blossomed

Into the shimmer and glow

Of pink, blue, yellow, gold,

Colors that ignited and sparked.

Just because that one little girl

Committed just a single, small act of kindness.
